Responsive Web Design - Ambulance Service Bristol

When I connected with Ambulance Service of Bristol, Incorporated, they didn’t have a mobile-friendly website, they had a single-page website, and their site lacked a payment portal. As a service that is helping move individuals who may not be able to care for themselves, the site needed to be more robust and easy for a caregiver or medical provider to navigate.

WEBSITE DESIGN GOALS ACHIEVED

  1. To avoid the tap-and-zoom platform the original site required on mobile devices, I designed a responsive website that immediately expands and reduces to fit any device a user visits from.
  2. I expanded the site from a single page to 20 pages, developing new pages that explained the variety of medical transport services, services areas, and competitive advantages of their ambulance transportation services.
  3. One of the more notable changes that I made in the new design was the addition of online bill pay. This was the first time that they have ever been able to receive payments online. I also added an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate, a cryptographic protocol that provides a layer of security for payments. This is an essential part when building secure websites.
  4. Ambulance Service of Bristol had never had an online portal to communicate with their employees. I designed an employee portal that allows for scheduling and notifications so that staff can manage and view their work schedules remotely.
